Jiangsu Dantu Economic Development Zone, which was approved provincial level by the People' s Government ofJiangsu Province in December, 1993, is located at Gaozi Town of western Zhenjiang City. Facing the Yangtze River to thenorth, it is west to Nanjing, esat to Shanghai and close to Yangzhou which is on the other side of the River.
　　The zone covers an area of 50 km2, of which, 22.33 km2 area in the north of No.312　National Highway' is especiallyplanned to develop industries of basic chemical, energy sources, metallurgy and port transportation, and the area in thesouth of No.312 National Highway is to construct residence and service trades.
　　There are high-grade deep-water coastlines of 6.32 km length in the zone, which will be developed to form basicpetrochemical industry group together with Nanjing and Yizheng　according to Jiangsu' s Development Along the Yangtze　River Strategy. We aim to establish the first-grade Petrochemical Industrial Park of the Jiangsu riverside industry region.
